2600.1 Title 26 of D.C. Law 2-139 provides that the existing retirement systems, which include the Civil Service Retirement System (Chapter 83 of Title 5 of the U.S. Code), Teachers' Retirement System, Police and Fire Retirement System, Teachers' Insurance and Annuity Association programs, and the Judges' Retirement System, shall continue to be applicable to all employees of the District of Columbia. Therefore, the Federal regulations in 5 CFR Part 831 and applicable D.C. regulations will continue to apply to employees of the District of Columbia.
