Administrator, HIV/AIDS Administration
The Government of the District of Columbia is recruiting for an Administrator to lead the HIV/AIDS Administration (HAA) in the Health Promotion Cluster within the Department of Health (DOH). This Administration is one of four Administrations in this Cluster. The mission of HAA is to reduce the incidence of HIV disease, prevent the spread of HIV infection, and provide support to those infected with or affected by HIV disease, so that residents of the District can minimize their chances of infection and live healthier lives. The Administration monitors the progression of the HIV epidemic, provides information about the disease, designs culturally competent and linguistically appropriate HIV/AIDS prevention programs, and ensures the availability of a comprehensive HIV/AIDS continuum of care for those impacted in the DC area.
The Administrator will work under the general direction and administrative guidance of the Senior Deputy Director, Department of Health (DOH). The selected individual is responsible for managing, planning, promoting, and coordinating the overall administration of HAA. The Administrator provides leadership as well as administrative direction and management to HAA. The Administrator is also responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, and overseeing the implementation of comprehensive and essential health and support services, health education and information, HIV counseling and testing, epidemiological and surveillance activities, community outreach, interventions and referrals, and the AIDS Drug Assistance Program for the residents of the District of Columbia. The Administrator is also responsible for establishing priorities and making budgetary recommendations to the Sr. Deputy Director for the distribution of Ryan White Title I and II funds, Housing Opportunities for Person with AIDS (HOPWA) funds, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funds, District appropriated funds, and other funds on the basis of need and performance to ensure the most efficient use of funds for the provision of HIV/AIDS services and programs in the District of Columbia.
The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree and have multiple years experience in administering HIV/AIDS programs. Extensive knowledge of public health principles; health planning; fiscal procedures; prevention treatment; rehabilitation; and local, national and global epidemiological issues related to HIV/AIDS is highly desirable. Broad knowledge of the grant process and ability to prepare grant requests for multiple funding streams, including Federal government, foundations and others. Knowledge of federal, state and local government structures; services; facilities; and governmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations is expected.

Salary and benefits $72,498 - $103,318.
