The Center for Workforce Development (CWD) within the District of Columbia Office of Personnel (DCOP) seeks an unpaid intern for the spring semester to assist with Information Technology initiatives.
The internship is available on a part-time or full-time basis. The intern will work under the direction of the CWD Information Technology manager. Assignments include but are not limited to:
- Installing and testing computers and applications on network;
- Applying Microsoft patches as released;
- Monitoring status of virus definition files;
- Creating Microsoft Access databases and applications; and
- Assisting the Information Technology manager as needed.
Skills/experience desired:
- Undergraduate or Graduate level course work and/or experience in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science;
- Knowledge of Visual Basic preferred;
- Familiarity with Windows 2000; and
- Ability to use analytical skills to identify and resolve system problems.
